Whitehill Primary School & Nursery

The Decus Educational Trust

Weekly Bulletin: Friday 16th May 2025

Dear Parents, Carers & Families,

This week is a week to celebrate the achievements of our oldest students, some of whom have been with us since Nursery. For the best part of the week our year 6 pupils have been heads down completing their end of Key Stage Statutory Assessment Tests. Year 6 approached a pivotal moment in their primary school journey with calmness, resilience and maturity. Well done. We are so very proud of you all for the efforts that you have made!

Nursery Library Visit

Our very youngest children in Nursery have been telling us about their library visit. It was really lovely that so many parents and carers could join the children on the day and support the children by looking at books. Developing a love of stories and reading so early in a child’s development will certainly benefit long term literacy and learning. It is clear that our Nursery children had a fabulous time. Thank you so much to all of the adults that made this possible!

We will continue to share the learning experiences of other year groups week on week.

Please don’t forget that all parents, carers and family members are welcome to attend our art exhibition next week. The gallery will be set up in the Key Stage 2 Hall between 15:45 and 16:30. Please come in and join us in admiring our pupils' work. We look forward to seeing you there!

Best wishes,

Angela Carpenter

Headteacher

Attendance

The foundations of learning are laid in the Primary years of schooling and so Whitehill Primary School is committed to making sure that our children do not miss out on the education and care that we offer. Regular attendance is critical if our pupils are to be happy, successful and benefit from the opportunities presented to them now and in the future.

Good attendance is fundamental to a successful and fulfilling school experience. We actively promote 100% attendance for all our pupils and we use a variety of rewards and incentives to promote good attendance and punctuality. Awards are group focused rather than given to individuals as we recognise that our students cannot help being absent for medical reasons.

This week, the class with the best attendance is Turquoise Class. Well done Turquoise Class! Keep up the good work!
