Weekly Bulletin: Friday 20th December 2024
Dear Parents, Carers & Families,
There has been much to marvel over and take delight in this week. Our Year 2 students had an amazing time when they visited the Eco Site at Gravesend Grammar School. Whilst there, they explored and built upon their understanding of what is dead, living and never living. Our team was impressed by how much the children knew and what they learnt. We are also very proud of their exemplary behaviour - Well done Year 2!
Year 2 Visit to the Eco Site
Our students in Key Stage 1, lower and upper Key Stage shone this week with their Christmas performances and carol service. Your singing, acting and reading was wonderful. You have got us all in the festive mood - Well done!
Christmas Performances
Thank you to all of the parents who have attended these events, to those who have supported with escorting students to and from the church and for providing costumes and festive attire.
Our recent Christmas Fete was a success and raised a magnificent £1,200. Thank you to the PTA and everyone who contributed or attended the event. This money will certainly help to enrich the children’s experiences and learning.
We are delighted to announce that we have received recognition and a reward for the collaborative work that we have been doing with the Prince’s Trust Institute.
It was a joy to see the children and team enjoy themselves on party and Christmas dinner days. We had an end of term assembly today where the staff choir sang a medley of Christmas songs to and with the students. Awards for the best decorated classes and the Forest School students' den building skills were given at the assembly.

Attendance
The foundations of learning are laid in the Primary years of schooling and so Whitehill Primary School is committed to making sure that our children do not miss out on the education and care that we offer. Regular attendance is critical if our pupils are to be happy, successful and benefit from the opportunities presented to them now and in the future.
Good attendance is fundamental to a successful and fulfilling school experience. We actively promote 100% attendance for all our pupils and we use a variety of rewards and incentives to promote good attendance and punctuality. Awards are group focused rather than given to individuals as we recognise that our students cannot help being absent for medical reasons.
Below, you can see this week's attendance data. The stars indicate the year groups who were awarded 5 minutes extra Green Time for topping everyone else's attendance:
