Whitehill Primary School & Nursery

The Decus Educational Trust

Weekly Bulletin: Friday 28th March 2025

Dear Parents, Carers & Families,

Visits to our year 4 classes this week have been extremely enlightening. Through their studies, our year 4 students have become expert historians; understanding much about the lives of the Ancient Egyptians.

Year 4 Egyptian Fact File

We were extremely impressed with the Ancient Egyptian fact files they created. Not only were the fact files teeming with historical information, they were beautifully presented and a pleasure to read. Well done Year 4! We are extremely proud of you!

Our year 2 classes continue to have fun outdoors with their forest school learning. This week, the students have been den building and learning about tadpoles. Mrs Gardner has been very impressed with the students’ enthusiasm and teamwork. Well done Year 2! Great work!

Year 2 Forest School

Week on week, we will continue to share the learning experiences of other year groups.

It was absolutely lovely to see so many of our mums and loved ones attend the Mother's Day Breakfast today. Thank you for coming! Wishing everyone who is a mum or fulfils that role in someone's life, a fabulous Sunday!

Mother's Day Breakfast

This week, our Chair Of Governors, Mr Outred came into school to celebrate the achievements of many of our pupils and to recognise those who staff have named as making significant improvements. Mr Outred was ‘blown away’ by the students’ efforts and achievements. Well done!

Please be aware that Whitehill Primary is a nut-free school. We aim to protect children who have allergies to nuts yet also help them, as they grow up, to take responsibility as to what foods they can eat and to be aware of where they may be put at risk. We do not allow nuts or nut products in school lunch boxes.

Our “Nut-Free Policy” means that the following items should not be brought into school:

  • Packs of nuts
  • Peanut butter or chocolate spread sandwiches
  • Fruit and cereal bars that contain nuts
  • Chocolate bars or sweets that contain nuts
  • Sesame seed rolls (children allergic to nuts may also have a severe reaction to sesame)
  • Cakes made with nuts
  • Any home cooked meals for packed lunches that are made from nuts

Please remember that some of our students are allergic to nuts and that for them contact with any of the aforementioned foods could potentially be deadly. Thank you for your understanding and support with this!

Have a lovely week everyone.

Attendance

Good attendance is fundamental to a successful and fulfilling school experience. We actively promote 100% attendance for all our pupils and we use a variety of rewards and incentives to promote good attendance and punctuality. Awards are group focused rather than given to individuals as we recognise that our students cannot help being absent for medical reasons.

This week, the class with the best attendance is Sapphire Class. Well done Sapphire Class! Keep up the good work!
