Whitehill Primary School & Nursery

The Decus Educational Trust

Weekly Bulletin: Friday 14th November 2025

It was lovely to see so many spots today with so many students and staff dressing to support Children in Need. Everyone's colourful apparel certainly brightened a gloomy Friday. Thank you to everyone who has supported this worthy cause!

Our children have impressed us in so many ways this week. We have seen resilience, determination and triumph in our year 2 classes who as part of their design and technology lessons have been learning how to sew. It was great to see how the students supported one another and through their efforts succeeded. Well done Year 2, you are amazing! Great learning!

Sewing in Year 2

There was great excitement and in year 1 who were learning about paper technology. The pupils had learnt how to make a simple moving mechanism and used what they had learnt to make moving firework pictures. Again, it was super to see the children collaborate and learn from one another. Well done Year 1, you smashed it!

Year 1 Moving Firework Pictures

Children from across the school have also selflessly put themselves forward for the role of Student Council Representative this week. Every class had elections. We were all very impressed by the way our students presented their cases to their peers and answered questions. Well done to all of our student candidates, you made it a very close election with difficult choices having to be made! We look forward to working with you this year. Our first job will be looking at student well-being.

Our Successfully Nominated Student Council Representatives

Thank you to those students who were our Student Council Representatives last year. With the assemblies you ran, the decisions you helped make and the improvements that you drove, our school has truly benefitted

We are really looking forward to seeing everyone next week at our Parent Consultation Evenings. There is still time to book a meeting your child's class teachers. This can be done through Arbor. Please speak to our Office Team if you need assistance with this. Please click HERE for more information.

Best wishes,

 Attendance

The foundations of learning are laid in the Primary years of schooling and so Whitehill Primary School is committed to making sure that our children do not miss out on the education and care that we offer. Regular attendance is critical if our pupils are to be happy, successful and benefit from the opportunities presented to them now and in the future.

Good attendance is fundamental to a successful and fulfilling school experience. We actively promote 100% attendance for all our pupils and we use a variety of rewards and incentives to promote good attendance and punctuality. Awards are group focused rather than given to individuals as we recognise that our students cannot help being absent for medical reasons.
