Weekly Bulletin: Friday 26th September 2025
Dear Parents & Carers,
Our children continue to make us proud in so many ways. We have seen so many of our pupils personifying the school values this week. Well done!
This week, we have had a special treat looking at our Year 2 students' writing progress. Having taken a look at their first piece of writing which was a labelled picture of their faces and compared this to their most recent 'Snail and the Whale' inspired work, the progress is significantly impressive. Well done Year 2!
Writing in Year 2
We would like to thank our local Police Officers who came in to deliver a talk on cyber security to our Year 5 and 6 pupils. Well done to our pupils for engaging so positively in this activity!
Week on week, we will continue to share the learning experiences of other year groups.
We were absolutely delighted to have so many of you join us at this week's Meet the Teacher Event. Thank you so much. If you were unable to attend, we will ensure that the slides that were shared on the day are uploaded to the Year Group Learning Pages for your reference. We are keen to improve so would welcome your feedback on this event. Please click HERE if you would like to share your thoughts.
This week we met with our Student Council and discussed what would be a popular menu to serve on our forthcoming School Census Day. As a result we will be serving the following menu:
School Census Days are really important days for us…
On these days each year, the government counts how many children at Whitehill Primary School have a school dinner – both free school meals and normal paid for meals. Our school funding is determined by how many of our children have school dinners on these days.
Thursday 2nd October is Census Day. Essentially, the greater the number of students in school having a school dinner, the greater our school funding will be for the year ahead.
We would love your child to join us for lunch this day, you can book them via the School Money App or by calling the Office.
We are looking forward to tomorrow's Fete. All are welcome to join us for what is sure to be a fun day!
Wishing you all a fabulous weekend!
Best wishes,

Attendance
The foundations of learning are laid in the Primary years of schooling and so Whitehill Primary School is committed to making sure that our children do not miss out on the education and care that we offer. Regular attendance is critical if our pupils are to be happy, successful and benefit from the opportunities presented to them now and in the future.
Good attendance is fundamental to a successful and fulfilling school experience. We actively promote 100% attendance for all our pupils and we use a variety of rewards and incentives to promote good attendance and punctuality. Awards are group focused rather than given to individuals as we recognise that our students cannot help being absent for medical reasons.
