Weekly Bulletin: 27th March 2026

Dear Parents, Carers & Families,

This week has been filled with so many moments of pride, and I am delighted to be able to share just a few of them with you.

Firstly, we are incredibly proud of our school choir, who performed at the Woodville Halls this week. It is always a joy to hear them practising week on week after school, and to witness the progress they are making in their singing. Their performance was a real testament to their commitment and enthusiasm. My sincere thanks go to Mrs Whitaker for all of the wonderful work she is doing with the choir, and to Mrs Dunn for her support on the day of the performance. Thank you also to all of the parents, carers and families who came along to support – it meant a great deal to the children.

It has also been a pleasure this week to spend time visiting classrooms across the school. We have been truly blown away by the quality of work being produced.

Year 6 Sandals

A special mention must go to our Year 6 pupils, whose Design and Technology projects have been exceptional. Using their knowledge of shoe construction, pattern making, sewing, threading and fixing techniques, they have designed and created some truly stunning sandals – footwear that would certainly befit a Roman soldier. Well done, Year 6!

Year 5 Pots

Our Year 5 pupils are also to be highly commended for their fantastic work in Art. Not only have they mastered the pinch pot technique, but they have also used sgraffito with great care and creativity to decorate their pieces. The results are both skilful and beautifully considered. Well done, Year 5!

Lower School STEAM Competition Winner

This week also saw the judging of our Lower School STEAM competition. Choosing a winner was no easy task, as all of the entries were so thoughtfully designed and executed. However, one design stood out – a Year 3 pupil’s elephant-shaped water-squirting toy, which impressed the judges with its creativity and functionality. As a result, the class has won a set of Brio. Congratulations!

We were also delighted to celebrate a number of pupils who received Golden Tickets and certificates for improved attendance this week. Their determination to return to school and catch up following a period of absence is commendable. We are very proud of them.

27.03.2026 Attendance Awards

Alongside this, I have been continuing to review our SEND provision. As a result of this work, our SENCo will be setting aside time in her weekly schedule to offer 15-minute meeting slots for parents who may need more urgent support or guidance. These will be available from next term, and further information on how to book will be shared shortly.

Finally, a reminder that our PTA Easter Celebration will take place on Monday 30th March. All pupils are invited to get creative and design an Easter bonnet to bring in and parade on the day. We are very much looking forward to seeing the children’s wonderful creations, and each child will receive a small Easter treat for taking part. A huge thank you to our PTA for their continued support in making events like this possible.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support. It is a privilege to see our children thrive in such a positive and supportive community.

Warm regards,

Angela Carpenter
