Midday Supervisor

We are looking for a midday supervisor to support our children have a happy, safe lunchtime whether in the school hall, classroom or outside on the playground.

Your role will be to:

  • Facilitate play and general wellbeing; assist and join in with games and activities
  • Ensure pastoral wellbeing, and support children in line with their needs
  • First-aider 
  • Observe and interact with the children in the indoor and outdoor spaces to ensure to positive behaviour and that safety is maintained
  • Ensure order so that the children collect their food in a timely manner and enjoy eating their lunch
  • Ensure the children are supported eg cutting food, serving gravy/water whilst also encouraging independence
  • Assisting with the clear-down of the dining room between sittings and after service
  • Liaise with the classroom teachers at the end of break so that issues are seamlessly handed over

 

Personal attributes

 Key to your success in this role will be to have a natural affinity with children, and to be able to engage with them to build relationships that can make a positive difference to the child's outcomes. You will need to be resilient, energetic and able to think on your feet. You will be a natural team player with a sense of fun, fairness and yet able to set appropriate boundaries. Flexibility, patience and a positive outlook will be vital for building relationships with colleagues as you work together for the children.

Salary & Benefits

Salary £5,330 per annum (pro rata to £23,337 for a full-time post)
